I've set a gorgeous rough Montana sapphire, prized for their colour into a generous nugget of 18ct yellow gold.  This has been suspended into an organic frame of textured silver.  Supplied on a heavy silver blecher chain with an extender, meaning it can be worn at 21" or 24" long.  The whole piece has been oxidised and scrubbed back, and will continue to wear to a pleasing antique finish.
 
Sapphires are the birthstone for September and are traditionally used to represent strength, protection and purity.
