I've set 10mm checkerboard moonstones in simple bezel settings and hung them on my favourite shepherd hook ear wires. Blue flash shows when light hits them.  Photographed here under bright LED light and natural light.
 
Moonstone is one of June's birthstones and is said to be a stone to wear for new beginnings.
